Our ashram has seen a multitude of events during its rich and glorious history, starting from 1927. The glorious past history is an inspiration for us to carry forward our service to mankind, with more zeal and enthusiasm.

2010 - A Naturopathy, Physiotherapy and Yoga unit was opened

2009 - The grand Universal Temple was dedicated to Sri Ramakrishna

2004 - An open air auditorium, aptly named after 'Swami Shambavananda', the first president of the Ponnampet Ashram, was dedicated to the public

1958 - Sri Ramakrishna Sevashrama, a 2 storeyed allopathic hospital was dedicated to the public

1957 - The Ashram was sanctified by the presence of Acharya Vinobha Bhave

1942 - A dispensary and Homoeopathy unit was set up at the Ashram premises

1934 - The Ashram environs were sanctified by the stay of Mahatma Gandhi

1927 - The Sri Ramakrishna Saradashrama was consecrated, with Swami Shambhavananda being the first president of Sri Ramakrishna Sharadashrama, Ponnampet
